Dorfgschichta

Rennie of Sektion Kuchikäschtli lies to us. As there's neither a Sitting Bull poster in his room, nor was he ever kidnapped by the Fiat Lux cult. But how come we are still hanging on his lips like the little spit vacuum thingie at the dentist. Why? Huh? Well, maybe because Sektion Kuchikäschtli is good. How good? Well, let's say that we are used to bonfires, and this is petrol poured over a candle. And if we are used to walk on a gravel path, then this leads us over scorching coal. Or if the punchlines of other rappers hurt like a haematoma, then this is that hard racing bicycle seat on that the one suffering from hemorrhoids has to sit on. Good enough?

But let's take a quick look back: the "Lampafiaber" EP was suffering from beats, that were, well, just not so really. However, even back then, Rennie showed that he can be to rhymes, what Einstein was to physics. And if now on the album we get a bundle of beats that we enjoy so much like a freerider does fresh powder, it's obvious, that hip hop used to be K Mart doughnuts, and this here is a still warm Krispy Kreme glazed one.

Okay, okay, all this praising needs to be supported by facts. The Swiss however share the opinion that Rennie is simply the best Emcee in Switzerland at this moment, and it's due to their votes that he won the Best Emcee category of the Most Awards 2001. And with Stimpee Kutz Rennie has a competent man behind him, who on first impression though, is holding back, keeping himself in the background. But already the second listen, will make you aware of the great scratches, as well as of two of the best beats, that Kutz added to this album ("Kuchikäschtlihiphop" and "Coming Out"). And speaking of beats, Claud the one to complete this trio, is providing the majority of the rhythm (and amongst them the phat "Klartext"), and his offerings come relaxed, thoroughly good and with enough thump and kicks to be excellent, like in the case of "Stohbliiba". Also to mention is the crafty and jazzy "Raimlischiaber" (produced by J. Bauer) or the bouncy tracks "Toni Lonoce" (produced by Manh Nguye) and "Gaschtreferat" (produced by M.A.R.C.).

And so the necessity of speaking on the beats, that are without an exception all making us happy, is taken care of, hence we can progress to talk about the lyrics. And Rennie understands to speak on various topics, and with that also to include various stylings in his lyrics. Meaning that we are not just getting lettuce, but a salad, with the beats being the delicious house dressing. So Rennie is giving us a tale of mistaken identity on "Dr Falschi", on "Nöchschta Track" he's tickling us with a secret, while he talks on his intimate relationship with Rap on "Coming Out". Humor is taken care of on "Swissdate" [a Swiss dating show], where Toni Lonoce and Sulaya, as well as Rennie try to impress the chick that may pick between the three. Further there's the commenting tracks "Stohbliiba", "Kuchikäschtlihiphop" and "Klartext", as there is the God discussing "Monolog". But what is also served to us, are cuts that feature bragging and boasting, like on "Stimmgabla", "Raimlischiaber", "Ächta Rap" and "Gschlächstsstyle", and once having heard these tracks, we think that if Rennie ever wears a crown, it shouldn't be in his mouth, but on his head.

Yes, this album is the MKII in the mass of Sanyo electronics, it's the malaria vaccination before travelling to Afrika, it's the bark beetle in the bad rap forest. And we don't lie.
